Normally in Cleveland, Ohio, the winter drags on and on, and we all cry about wishing summer would get here. This year, however, it seems that everything has flipped around. When I walked out my door this September morning into yet another day of stifling, muggy heat I found myself thinking, When is winter going to get here!?
With that in mind, I chose to design an outfit for the We love the cold! contest.
In my opinion, you cannot get through the winter without a good selection of wool skirts. I love the idea of pairing a masculine herringbone with a peek of ruffled petticoat underneath. Add a high waist, black buttons and a white ruffled top and you have an outfit that is a little bit steampunk while still being wearable. This would also be adorable with a scarf or cardigan for extra warmth.
