This dress is my idea of Pure Elegance - classic, sophisticated, yet updated for the modern girl.
I wanted to design something based on the Roaring 20s, flapper style and with geometric elements reminiscent of Art Deco design. The a-line skirt gives it a flirty update.
It has been reduced to the simplest possible shapes, consisting solely of 4 pattern pieces, 2 darts in the front and 2 darts in the back, and a decorative closure at the top of the diamond keyhole. The dress can be taken on and off over the head and does not need a zipper.
I have shown it in an understated nude pink, but I could see it working as the perfect Little Black Dress, in steel gray, or really almost any color.
