I had a hard time with this challenge even though I LOVE the cold. I am one of those freaks that dreads summer, so I was surprised that I had so much trouble coming up with something. The things is that winter fashion to me is all stylish outerwear, knits (as in something I knit not sew) and layers layers layers. And since I really don't have the skills to be sewing any winter coats and this website is about sewing, not knitting, I went with the layers....which was hard to envision in a single piece. But here it is: It's a shift dress that is much longer in the back than in the front. The necklines is basically a drawstring secured with a couple stitches making it pretty easy to sew (as well as decide how low cut you want it)and it is very loosely shaped under the bust with some stitches on the inside. I like some asymmetry in my layers so you can see them all, I picture this dress with thick leggings and a baggy cardigan or fitted coat. But it would also be great as a New Year's party dress in a rich black fabric with gold drawstring straps.
