   Thank you for a wonderful, amazing, fabulous pattern! It came together easily and quickly and I didn't even curse once. Plus it looks gorgeous on. I made one minor change (took in the side seam a bit just below the sleeve) and I used my own neck facing. I didn't use the instructions. I didn't use knit and added a side zipper.
   I will be sewing this one a zillion more times, that's for sure!

    I haven't sewn in a year or so, so just to reassure myself do I line up the "Grainline" on the eva dress pattern with the part of the fabric that stretches more or the part that stretches less?

    Here's my version I made in February. I didn't know about the red dress competition pattern review had until it was too late. So here's another red Eva Dress. The dress came together quickly. The only modification I made was that I chopped off 10 inches from the hem because I'm 5'2''

    Hi,
    I'm about to make the Eva as an evening dress and was looking for some advice. Basically, I wanted to make it out of a stretch charmeuse fabric and was wondering if it would need lining?

    I just found this site, and I LOVE this dress. I bought some fabric this afternoon on the market. And it's now hanging to dry. And I really hope I can put this together. I already printed and cut out the patterns. Though I made a mistake and the 5x5 inch box is 4,5x4,5 with me. But I think I can fit into this dress too with this half inch shorter printed out pattern.

    When It's finished and I can fit into, I'll show it here.

    swenny, you should really print the pattern again and make sure it's the right size - ten percent smaller is a BIG difference. It's a good idea to first print out only the page with the 5x5" square to check that the printer settings are correct before you print all pages!
