ooo! burlesque!!
how about a challenge for making something for everyday wear inspired by burlesque - or inspired by something not usually worn every day (like the circus or something?)
will there be a new pattern soon? seems like ages!!

I favor the 40's and 50's era (obviously by my name) so what about a Pinup Outfit (skirt or dress). So feminine and fashionable, I think it would make a great challenge to try and channel the screen siren's and pin-up girls of that time like Marilyn Monroe, Betty Page, Rita Hayworth and the like.

I must admit that I'm a bit sceptical about the whole burlesque/pinup thing. As much as I think it would be a great topic, it is a narrow niche and sadly we are already struggling for members participation at the moment. Only four designs in the current contest - that's really disappointing - and we already stretched it to two months. Regarding the pattern, glamourie, we had some technical issues but the pattern and the photos for the Eva dress are all ready, I think it looks really beautiful and we should be able to make everything available in the next couple of days.

I cant wait to see it! I think you guys have done an awesome job with all of the patterns so far!
personally i had trouble with the current contest as i normally start thinking about a design as something i would wear myself or that i would wear myself or for someone i know well, but i was surprised that there weren't more entries : (
perhaps the next theme could be something like spring - to get everyone looking ahead?

I know I'm totally new here and that a large majority (all?) of the members are probably female. But what a bout doing something for men? May be something we'd like to see our dream man wearing?

Clothes inspired by architecture-people could choose a really pared down simple shift with one seam to represent mid-century modern or ornate lace ruffled creation to represent Edwardian style?

Or maybe the style of your favorite comic book/ tv/ movie character but represented in a manner that can be worn on the street.

Accessories! It would be such a change from the regular clothing patterns. Scarves, hats, gloves, bags, belts and headbands! And who knows what else!
Or....outerwear. Coats and such. Or jackets. I'm just thinking that by the time this contest will come around, the pattern will be released in the winter time.....so, yeah. :)

What about using a famous quote? There are som many possibilities.
"Fly like a butterfly, sting like a bee." has potential in it's dichotomy. -Mohammed Ali
Mae West - "Cultivate your curves - they may be dangerous but they won't be avoided."
Coco Chanel - "Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions."
